Goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa's transfer collapses after he went for a coffee break and never came back

Iconic goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, reportedly abandoned his deadline day transfer negotiations for a coffee and never returned.

The 40-year-old keeper flew to Spain for

talks to join a new club, Burgos. During the discussions, Ochoa’s side wanted to revisit a clause in the contract and asked for a coffee break. After that, the player and his representatives disappeared, and calls from Burgos went unanswered.

The medical was done and Burgos had agreed most of the details with Ochoa's camp, according to Spanish journalist Sergio Gonzalez Pulgar.

But then Ochoa said that one point in the contract needed to be changed, before popping out for a hot drink.

Over his career, he has played for América, AC Ajaccio, Salernitana, Málaga, Granada, Standard Liège and Portuguese club ABC.  He has represented Mexico at five World Cups.

Ochoa, who has 151 caps for Mexico, is now a free agent.
